The Twilight Saga movies have made its stars exceedingly rich and famous, but they all came from smaller beginnings. This article describes what the movies stars were doing before they hit the big time with Twilight.
Kirsten Stewart- Bella Swan- Before Twilight
With her parents both being involved with the movie business it is no surprise that Kirsten Stewart has hit the big time. Kirsten’s father is a television producer for Fox, working on shows such as Fear Factor and The Weakest Link. Her Mother is a script supervisor working in the television and film industries.
Kirsten’s mother is probably the reason why Kirsten got her first on screen work, such as appearing uncredited in 2000’s The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, on which Kirsten’s mother was a script supervisor.
Kirsten Stewart’s first credited role came from replacing Hayden Panettiere last minute on the movie Panic Room in 2002.
Since Kirsten Stewart’s appearance in the Twilight Saga, she has been a hit on the red carpet with her rebellious style, such as wearing Converse trainers with red carpet dresses and has starred in The Runaways as the leading lady.
Robert Pattinson- Edward Cullen- Before Twilight
Coming from more modest a background than co-star Kirsten, his Father is a cars salesman. Robert Pattinson gained acting experience through amateur acting for the Barnes Theatre Company.
Robert Pattinson’s first role was in the television movie Curse of the Ring playing Giseheler in 2004. He also appeared uncredited in the 2004 movie Vanity Fair.
Robert hit the big time when he appeared as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter franchise. This secured Pattinson’s status as a heart throb, making him a perfect choice for the role of Edward in the Twilight Saga.
Since starring in Twilight, Edward has appeared in a leading role in Remember Me, Water for Elephants and Bel Ami.
Taylor Lautner- Jacob Black- Before Twilight
Taylor Lautner was not always destined to be an actor. He started off as a sports person, competing in Karate since the age of 6; he has a black belt in Karate and has represented his country.
He first became interested in acting when a his Karate trainer convinced him to audition for a Burger King advert; he was not successful but became interested in pursuing acting further. Taylor moved in to Los Angeles in order to pursue this new dream and he still enjoys sport in his spare time such as American football and Soccer.
Taylor Lautner learnt the ropes through acting in television, before Twilight, he appeared in: My Wife and Kids, The Bernie Mac Show and Summerland, among others.
His first movie role was doing the voice of Sharkboy in Robert Rodriguez’s The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D. He later appeared in Cheaper by the Dozen 2.
Since the Twilight Saga, he has not been busy filming, like some of his co-stars but has certainly confirmed his status as a Hollywood heart throb.
Other Twilight Stars Before They Were Famous
Some of the other Twilight Saga stars have also had interesting beginnings, here are a few facts:
- Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, was the face of American retro clothing brand Stop Staring before she made the big time in the movie world.
- Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper, was born in Singapore. Before Twilight, he appeared in The O.C and is in a band called 100 Monkeys.
